CUSTOMER SERVICE

You are here to help make this event run smoothly. Your job is to welcome and greet the participants and do whatever you can to ensure that they have a great time. You are also there to help the restaurant management and staff so that they have a positive experience and will want to participate again next year.

Volunteers are also important as ambassadors for Rotary. It’s important we make a positive impression and engage in answering questions about what Rotary stands for, what we do, how we’ve helped in our community and globally.

YOUR MAIN JOBS

#! Checking for wrist bands

All people must show wrist bands indicating they have purchased tickets. Direct those without a wristband to the check in table at 1216 Solano. Participants only get one serving, otherwise the restaurant may run out of food!

#2 Restaurant Interface

You are the main contact with the kitchen and restaurant managers. We are there to make life easier for the restaurant staff, so be as helpful as you can. If the guests have wonderful things to say about the food, you can let the managers know!

#3 Crowd control

We are expecting 200 people over a 3:00-hour period.  At busy times, our guests may have to line up as they pick up their “bites”. If a restaurant nearby doesn’t have a line, you can encourage participants to go there first and return when it is less busy at your restaurant.  Make sure customers of the restaurant have access to the interior.  At some locations, people can go to the bar and order drinks, but these are not included as part of the event.

What to bring:

  • Your cellphone fully charged!
  • Protection from the sun, because it can come out when you least expect it.  And sunglasses!
  • Layers in case it gets colder than you think.
